Work: The activities are divided between the morning and the afternoon. In the morning, Worldwide Friends volunteers perform outdoor work, which may include planting trees, fixing hiking paths, painting or weeding. 06April Biofuel and soap tour around Iceland

Work: WF Iceland is taking action on this environmental issue by organizing work camps to collect waste oil and soap from hotels, restaurants and petrol stations all around the country. Iceland is still a clean and unpolluted area and proactive education and awareness programs will protect this environment. The first week of the project volunteers together with WF Iceland team leaders will drive around the country with a van and a truck collecting waste materials. During the second week of the camp the volunteers will learn how to process this wasted and start the first step of transforming it into renewable fuel and soaps.

06April Farm life - Nature, art and renovation in fjord of the whales

Work: Since the creation of Worldwide friends, the organization has been looking for the opportunity to set up a project to renovate and work at an old Icelandic farm. The idea of renovating old spaces in the country side of Iceland and especially in areas where there isn’t much population is one of the best ideas our organization could develop. In one hand we have the opportunity of giving life to an empty and old space, in the other hand we are bringing life back to the area with the spirit and the ideas of International volunteers which will be very much welcomed by the local community.
